(Duplex) NSSC to Cover Full-range Grades and to Expand Plates Production by Three Times with 4M Width

NSSC has widened its supply-ability of duplex grades, and will expand its production capacity of plates next autumn by three times, which push-up NSSC’s position to one of the largest suppliers of duplex plates, covering full-range of grades from lean to super.

Also, after completion of under-going investment, NSSC will become the distinct supplier of duplex plates with world widest width of 4M, which allows customers to make broad use of duplex stainless steel.

1. Three More Duplex Grades in Plates

In addition to four existing grades – ASTM S31803 and S32205, JIS SUS329J3L (NSSC®DX1) and SUS329J4L, NSSC has added three grades ASTM S32101 and S32304 (Lean Duplex) and S32750 (Super Duplex). ASTM S32101 can be supplied also as LDX2101®

2.Expansion of Duplex Quarto Plates Capacity and Size Availabilities

After completing new pickling facility and cold leveler at its Yawata works by next September, production capacity of duplex steel plates of NSSC will be 3,000 tons per month which is three times of current volume.

NSSC will also become capable to supply 4M wide plate in duplex grades instead of current maximum availability up to 3.2M.

Currently NSSC has size availability of duplex quarto plates with thickness of 6 to 60 mm, and maximum length and unit mass of 12 M and 6.5 tons respectively.
